From April 23rd to 25th, we successfully conducted the PIC Testing Course at our facilities in Valencia, Spain.
Prior to the event, participants received a detailed schedule outlining daily activities, which included classroom sessions, coffee breaks, laboratory classes, lunches and dinners.
Upon completion of the event, each participant received a certificate and a thank you card featuring a group photo of all attendees as a keepsake.
Is the PIC Testing Course for you?
While having a basic knowledge of photonics is beneficial, it is not mandatory for course participants. The course is ideal for individuals who intend to create new photonic products, establish in-house or outsourced packaging development and manufacturing processes. Targeted attendees include professional technicians, industrial companies, academic staff, and anyone involved in integrated photonics, aiming to expand their skills or enhance their expertise in testing optical integrated circuits. To prepare for the practical laboratory activities, a series of technical presentations will cover a broad range of relevant topics. The course aims to provide an industrial perspective and offers limited spots for companies to participate.
This PIC Testing Course offers a unique chance to acquire specialized skills through hands-on sessions led by VLC Photonics’ optical testing experts. Participants will gain practical experience ranging from the basics of propagation loss measurements and data processing to advanced topics such as active measurements and spectral measurements of reconfigurable devices using current sources. The course includes key photonic characterization processes and the use of industrial equipment for bare-die photonic testing, fundamental data extraction, and analysis. Participants will learn essential photonic testing design rules and test planning strategies, as well as how to manage the photonic product design process and navigate the manufacturing ecosystem.
